Resolution 09.103 Encouraging the increase of students in petroleum specific degree programs and research projects

Orginally passed in September 2005 and reauthorized in September 2007, IOGCC member states reauthorized Resolution 09.103 again in October 2009. The IOGCC continues to identify petroleum manpower and research as important components for a secure energy future in the United States. Key highlights of Resolution 09.103

A stable, adequate and well-trained domestic petroleum workforce of both professional and blue collar workers is critical to continued environmentally sound development of natural gas and oil resources in the United States;

The IOGCC will continue to address manpower needs;

Research projects at the university level can result in valuable support and training of petroleum professionals as well as major advances in technology for exploration and production of natural gas and crude oil;
